Stalactite twin tables (2023)
These side tables are inspired by the triangular geometry found in both mathematical and geological forms, particularly the natural structures of stalactites in cave formations. This work explores the relationship between nature, design, and materials, as seen through the lens of geometric abstraction and the organic forms present in natural landscapes.
Featured in Design Miami/Basel in June 2023, the tables represent a confluence of natural inspiration and material experimentation. The design blends steel, wood, bioresin, paints, varnish, polyurethane, and eco friendly binder, each material chosen for its structural qualities and its ability to contribute to the overall aesthetic and narrative of the piece.
The table’s materials were selected for their sustainability, durability, and ability to interact visually and texturally, evoking both the intricate surface of geological formations and the innovative use of biologically derived elements like bioglue and bioresin. These materials not only give the piece a modern appeal but also reflect my ongoing passion for exploring how materials can be integrated thoughtfully and creatively into design.
